Danny Shirley, lead singer of Confederate Railroad, has suffered a broken back and is under medical care.
The front man of the country rock band suffered a broken back in what the band have described as a “freak accident at home” on Tuesday, with the other band members asking for fans to pray for him.
Although the posts from the band on social media are remarkably vague in terms of what actually happened, they do advise that Shirley is “heavily medicated” and “under a doctor’s care”.
It is not believed at this stage that the injury will lead to a permanent paralysis. Confederate Railroad were formed in 1987 and are best known for their 90’s hits “Trashy Women” and “Queen of Memphis”.
Their first two albums – Confederate Railroad (1992) and Notorious (1994) went double platinum and platinum respectively.
